XIANGMIHU PARK CITY News / New Project / Biocity Studio / 09.07.2018
The Shenzhen Xiangmihu Area International Urban Design Competition shortlisted 15 teams to develop a site masterplan for the 4.9 km2 mixed use financial hub. Set within the core district of Shenzhen, the brief sought a world-class benchmark in urban planning to strengthen Shenzhen’s global positioning within the wider Greater Bay Area which includes Guandong, Hong Kong and Macau. McGregor Coxall utilised the competition to frame our smart, healthy cities philosophy around a Park City concept. Exploring how cities of the future might function, the design approach considers the urban functionality of Xiangmihu in the context of the latest smart technologies. The project was led by our Bristol Studio and distils the Place Vitality Criteria to deliver a unified landscape that integrates sustainable water management, multi-modal transport, live data and information with a carefully considered architectural density and urban fabric.
