Landscape Architecture

The beauty, quantity, quality and diversity of a city’s public spaces, parks and green/blue infrastructure is a key measure of its liveability and prosperity. Working closely with clients, stakeholders, communities, first nations peoples and other McGregor Coxall disciplines, our landscape architecture team deploys creative design thinking to deliver functional, nature positive, sustainable projects.

Our Biourbanism informed, systems based workflow, integrates digital intelligence from the BioLab as a site-specific evidence base for design. The BioLab enables the design team to access a multitude of data sets that are used for site analysis and simulation. Computational design methodologies including sustainability target setting, automated reporting, generative scripting, CGI production and 3D printing are utilised to enable rapid options testing and ideation.

Our landscape led master planning and design services bridge the full spectrum of scale from giga-scale regional master plans, to new cities, precinct design and the creation of vibrant, finely crafted local places. Working locally and collaborating globally, the team delivers sustainable place outcomes informed by local consultation, narratives and culture.

Aerial view of Parramatta Aquatic Centre with a background of the Parramatta skyline.
Parramatta Aquatic Centre
In a rugged, mountainous landscape under a cloudy sky, a person stands next to a small pitched tent on a wooden platform. The scene is surrounded by dense vegetation and features a towering rock formation on the left, perfectly capturing the essence of the Grampians Peaks Trail in Gariwerd.
Grampians Peaks Trail
A man and a woman sit at a table in a circular outdoor space with high brick walls and a clear blue sky above. The area, reminiscent of Parramatta's Leisure Centre, is shaded, with a small tree growing in the center, surrounded by additional tables and chairs. The atmosphere is calm and minimalist.
A cityscape view from a park with lush greenery in the foreground and a modern building with a rooftop garden. The background features Sydney's tall buildings under a partly cloudy sky. Paths and railings are visible among the greenery.

By integrating computational insights from our Biourbanism Lab, we develop site-specific evidence-based solutions that deliver sustainable outcomes and enhance the well-being of communities.
