As part of the Blacktown 2025 Vision, Blacktown City Council appointed McGregor Coxall as lead consultant to develop the master plan for the former Blacktown Showground. The resulting design report was adopted by council to develop the site into a recreation, play and environment precinct with a water sensitive urban design focus. We were were subsequently engaged to undertake landscape architecture design and documentation services for the wetlands, bridges, community garden, pedestrian linkages and elements of the play spaces. The project incorporates a rain water harvest basin for toilet flushing and irrigation. It is now a home for a diverse range of aquatic ecology, local birds and has become a well used community park for adults and children.
