Urban Design

Complex, evolving, living entities, the world’s 10,000+ cities embody the aspirations of our diverse cultures and communities. Our urban design team masterplans resilient, smart cities and places using our Biourbanism systems-based workflow. The team delivers a full range of urban services including feasibility studies, design strategy, policy, master plans, frameworks, structure plans, guidelines and implementation plans.

These services bridge the full spectrum of scale from giga-scale regional master plans, to new cities, precinct design and the creation of vibrant local places. We utilise computational methods to build detailed digital twin urban models integrating data intelligence and simulations from the Biourbanism Lab.

Inclusive in process, our urban master planning services unite multiple parties to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for clients, communities and the environment. The team interacts closely with a multitude of consultants to deliver resilient, prosperous places and built environment outcomes.

Drawing on global and local expertise, our team operates at all scales to create harmony between built and natural environments. We guide community stakeholders towards a shared vision of place – a journey that safeguards prosperity and is articulated through unified strategies to inform policymaking.

A five-step diagram illustrates the planning process for urban building placement, incorporating wind direction, sun exposure, and shadow impact considerations to ensure an optimal design layout with minimal shading on surrounding structures. Arrows highlight natural elements and visual lines.
