Robert Snelling

Urban Designer

With educational and professional experience across urban design, architecture, civil and environmental engineering disciplines, Robert is a multi-disciplinary designer, researcher and critical thinker. Regularly drawing upon multiple fields, he works in complex and broad-reaching challenges where he brings both an inventive and logical method to his work.

Motivated by the challenges of sustainability, he is driven to deliver a more regenerative built environment and continuously seeks opportunities for integrated sustainable design outcomes. With an understanding of broader challenges and an appetite for fine details, Robert constantly moves between scales, ensuring forward-thinking ideas are well-executed.

Robert has received several awards through his career, including a Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship and a Norman Foster Foundation Scholarship. He has won multiple design competitions including for Chiesi Group (Italy) and Lake Macquarie City Council (Australia). His recent research into heritage building adaptation has been published in the Journal of Cultural Heritage, the highest-ranked conservation journal.
