Ideas testing at Riverside Quay has commenced with the installation of a temporary pop up park and farmers market. Working in collaboration with Mirvac, the City of Melbourne and the wider event team, McGregor Coxall oversaw the park installation that included street furniture, ping-pong table and over 650 native wetland plants from 8 different species. The pop up tested strategies to activate the eastern edge of the precinct whilst community engagement was conducted during the event to gain feedback on what measures could be adopted in future. The prototype concepts were carefully positioned to minimise interference to the causeways primary function as a thoroughfare and feedback indicates that the project was very well supported with the city currently considering options to initiate the market on a regular basis.
