McGregor Coxall has appointed Christian Borchert a new director to lead the Melbourne studio and two new senior team members Tom Rivard and David Knights to lead the Urbanism and Environment teams respectively in Sydney.

Christian Borchert has been appointed as Director of the Melbourne Studio and will lead the Melbourne team. With qualifications in architecture and registration as a landscape architect, Christian has spent the past 12 years at McGregor Coxall as a designer on some of the companies most prestigious projects including the Australian Garden at the National Gallery, Ballast Point Park in Sydney and most recently the University of Adelaide New Clinical Facility. As studio leader and a member of the company design group he is focused on servicing the needs of our Victorian clients. Christian leads an expanding team in Melbourne working across major public and private sector projects in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Tom is a leading urbanism academic and director of the annual Sydney Urban Islands program. With a qualification in architecture from UPenn and more than 25 years experience in architecture and urban design he has been appointed as an associate and the urbanism discipline leader in Sydney. He is completing a PHD and teaches at UTS. Tom is working on large scale urban renewal strategies and sustainable master plans for the public and private sector across the McGregor Coxall global studios.

David Knights is one of Australia’s leading WSUD water engineering specialists who joins McGregor Coxall as an associate director. Previously a director at Alluvium, David is an environmental engineer with more than 15 years experience in sustainable water management, waterway restoration and green infrastructure. As a consultant he partnered with McGregor Coxall for 10 years on many of the firm's award winning WSUD projects. David has been appointed as the environment discipline leader in Sydney to spear head McGregor Coxall's global sustainable energy and water projects.
