Foshan Arts Centre

Foshan Nanhai District Platform Construction Headquaters / Foshan, China

Nanhai Art Centre Masterplan presents a detailed, symbiotic biocity framework that inspires the harmonious integration of ecology with a technological city in Shenzhen’s Foshan District. Designed in collaboration with China Design Group CO, the multidisciplinary approach offers a new model of sustainable living, balancing recreational and city service amenities, pedestrian-centric plazas, and multi-modal transport connections with biodiverse greenspaces and waterways.

The blue grid concept responds to climate change impacts while safeguarding essential environmental and cultural values, leveraging sponge streets and wetlands to purify water and mitigate flood risk. Activated riverfronts are exposed, creating habitats for birds and fish, and recreational opportunity for locals and tourists. Linear parks are proposed for waterfront and commercial areas, adopting wild urban planting palettes that offer structure and biodiversity for key public domains. A thematic city programme honours Lingnan’s heritage, uniting historical elements with the new.
