Bays Waterfront Promenade

UrbanGrowth NSW / Pyrmont, Australia

McGregor Coxall was commissioned by Urban Growth New South Wales to investigate potential temporary responses for the Bays Waterfront Promenade and implement pedestrian and cycle linkages to fast track public access between Jacksons Landing, The Sydney Fish Markets and The Glebe Foreshore. Using tactical urbanism strategies, the promenade will deliver a diverse range of temporary ‘plug and play’ uses to seed the immediate activation of underutilised waterfront spaces along the Bays edge until longer term regeneration is complete.

The interim strategies provide the opportunity to retrofit outdated infrastructure to reduce energy use, improve water quality and manage urban runoff into the harbour. The refined waterfront will host a range of thriving public spaces and places with cutting-edge environmental, ecological and energy solutions.Renders in collaboration with CHROFI Architects
