Valley Lake lookout is currently under construction with assembly by 2Construct builders. The project, due for completion in November 2017 is being delivered in collaboration with Development Victoria and Moonee Valley City Council. The finished lookout will become a key community asset providing panoramic views across the soaring basalt cliffs of the former quarry as well as the Melbourne city scape. Sitting on the site of the Niddrie Quarry, which supplied basalt to pave the roads of Melbourne from the 1940s to 1975, the area surrounding Valley Lake was purchased by Places Victoria in 2000 and will eventually house 580 homes.
