Falls Creek to Mount Hotham Alpine Crossing News / Project Milestone / 01.07.2016

Phase 2 has progressed on the Falls to Hotham Alpine Crossing (FHAC). The FHAC is to become one of Victoria’s four “Icon Walks”, offering a world-class, mid-distance walking experience within a unique alpine environment. Working with Parks Victoria, Tourism North East, Tourism Victoria and Regional Development Victoria, the team is now undertaking the development of the Draft Master Plan. Phase 2 will focus on consultation with key stakeholders, the community and government agencies in the development of a draft master plan to be submitted in October 2016. The draft will establish the core experience of the trail, a range of accommodation options and precincts, the target markets to which it will appeal and the potential economic benefits to the region. Phase 1 of the project included a high level masterplan concept for the region and strategies to conserve, protect and celebrate the Alpine National Park's natural and cultural values.
