Led by Hadley Property Group, dRMM, and McGregor Coxall, the team won a London Legacy Development Corporation design competition for the last remaining development site within the London Olympic Park, Rick Roberts Way. The Rick Roberts Way initiative represents a landscape-led masterplan, deeply rooted in fostering community and environmental resilience.
At its heart, the proposal champions a holistic vision of urban connectivity, using food as a medium to unite, cultivate, and prosper. Through the innovative introduction of Chiringuitos kiosks, the project bridges commerce with culture, creating dynamic spaces of engagement and enterprise. The encompassing design pays homage to Stratford’s layered history while envisioning a sustainable future.
Key landscape features like the ‘Neighbourhood Stitch,’ Rick Roberts Park, and a mix of biodiverse habitats not only enhance aesthetic appeal but also address pivotal issues of climate resilience and urban heat.
