Sophie Thomas

Narrative Designer

Sophie is a UK-based Set & Costume Designer with ten years of experience in theatre: film, interiors, and live events. Recognised for critically assessing project needs and developing designs with conceptual flare. Personally recognised by national critics including, Michael Billington OBE of The Guardian who reviewed a particular design as “ingenious”. David Hieatt, Co-Founder of Hiut Denim, Howies, and The Do Lectures described Sophie as a “maverick and a rising star”. She is signed to Berlin Associates, London.

Notable productions include Home by David Storey (Chichester Festival Theatre, 2021) and My Name is Rachel Corrie edited by Alan Rickman and Katherine Viner, Young Vic, London (JMK Award Winner 2017).

Sophie finds herself at a major confluence whereby she wishes to use her previous design experience and interest in environmental psychology to transition into a new career. Her interests lie in the social value of both design and healing, in the context of environments, landscapes, and narratives.
