Thomas Chapman joins panel at 2024 Innovation Symposium

What does it mean to innovate?

Thomas Chapman, Computational Design Lead at McGregor Coxall and Founder of LandArch Tools, will join a panel of other experts at the 2024 Innovation Symposium to explore the state of tech and innovation within the landscape architecture profession.

Chapman applies a rare mix of practical industry and advanced technical knowledge to lead design into a data-backed future.

Join him at this year’s AILA Festival in Melbourne, where discussions will consider what technologies such as BIM, AI, and data represent to the future of the industry.

Chapman is part of a global team of design computation experts and geospatial scientists at McGregor Coxall’s research Lab, focused on tackling complex challenges for giga-scale projects.

Together, the Lab are developing an ecosystem of designer-led tools that use cybernetics – where designers become collaborators with the systems they create, guiding and fine-tuning as they respond to various inputs. A seamless and innovative process to help designers reduce the complexity of decision-making. Navigating with ease through intricate design problems and reducing risk throughout the design and development process.

The experience gained from solving global challenged can be applied to local projects, from urban planning to climate-resilient landscapes, ensuring each and every project benefits from the latest insights and technologies.

Applying innovative strategies and tools early on in the design process enables well informed solutions that meet the demands of the future.
