2024 AILA Fresh Victoria Launches

We recently launched the 2024 AILA Fresh VIC Mentorship at Spiire. Now in its 7th year, this program welcomed its largest cohort yet, with 30 mentors and 30 mentees.

The mentorship program aims to connect young landscape architects with experienced professionals, underscoring our commitment to nurturing the next generation of landscape architects.

Tian Liang, landscape architect in our Melbourne Studio and Chair of AILA Fresh VIC comments, “as I enter the second year as Chair of AILA Fresh, I’ve found immense enjoyment in the role, and I’m overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude for the profound impact it has on my life. Every step has been a precious opportunity for growth and self-discovery. I am genuinely excited to continue this journey, eager to make meaningful contributions to the landscape architecture community while staying true to myself and inspiring others to do the same.”

We were thrilled to see returning mentors, new faces, and even former mentees stepping into mentor roles, showcasing the program’s full-circle impact.

The program was attended by 30 mentees from the University of Melbourne, RMIT University, and Deakin University representing diverse backgrounds, alongside 30 mentors from renowned consultancies including, AECOM, Arup, ASPECT Studios, Beveridge Williams, City of Melbourne, Hansen Partnership, Hassell, Mesh Planning, McGregor Coxall, PlanE, Spiire, Thompson Berrill Landscape Design, Tract Consultants, Urban Initiatives, and academia from the University of Melbourne and RMIT University.
