The Inner West Blue-Green Grid Strategy picks up PIA Commendation
McGregor Coxall is delighted to announce that the Inner West Council’s Blue-Green Grid Strategy has received a commendation at the Planning Institute of Australia NSW Awards. This forward-thinking project addresses the expected population growth and infrastructure challenges in the Inner West over the next 20 years.
The strategy focuses on creating interconnected open spaces that enhance recreational opportunities, expand the urban tree canopy, and improve ecological communities, all while respecting the cultural narratives of the Gadigal and Wangal peoples.
Featuring 84 key routes that link schools, parks, and transport hubs, the Blue-Green Grid will connect to significant regional spaces such as the Green Way and Bay Run. This comprehensive approach not only promotes accessibility but also fosters community engagement and environmental sustainability.
Supported by the NSW Government, this long-term plan is crucial for coordinating future grant funding and contributes to the Greater Sydney Green Grid, ensuring a vibrant and sustainable community for all.
McGregor Coxall extends heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in this project, whose dedication has made this recognition possible, including The Inner West Council, JOC Consulting & Isabelle Connolly.
