Gateway Manly 2015
McGregor Coxall together with architects CHROFI were commissioned to undertake a strategic Master Plan for the Manly Town Centre and its world class beach front. The scheme aims to enhance Manly’s internationally renowned tourist image and strengthen its village character to create a friendly, sustainable, pedestrianised, and vibrant place to live, work and visit. The proposal includes a laneway revitalisation strategy, a precinct cogen plant, WSUD initiatives, new traffic management plans, relocation of the key parking station underneath the iconic Manly Oval and pedestrianising the entire Town Centre. The Master Plan proposes new public buildings including a library and community centre positioned around plazas inside a fine grain laneway network supported by boutique shopping and retail. Belgrave Street is proposed as a Grande Boulevard with a bicycle way that connects to the main centres along Sydney’s Northern Beaches. McGregor Coxall, CHROFI and Manly Council are currently in the process of implementing the first phases of the Master Plan 2015 Master Plan.
