Excel London Stage 3
ExCel London’s redevelopment will solidify its place as a world-class exhibition centre, and the destination of choice for international and national events. Lead by Principal Architects, Grimshaw, McGregor Coxall delivered the documentation and Landscape BIM package for a scheme that proposes flexible, modular-based spaces that respond to the needs of the climate emergency, biodiversity, and community access to green areas. The assembly of the ‘Modular Mile’, an adaptable public realm approach factoring usage during and outside of key events, embraces the wider regeneration of the Royal Docks and responds to the aspirations proposed in the Royal Docks Public Realm guide. A biophilic park acts as a drawcard for local community recreation, with public greenspace doubling as a contemporary stormwater management system that implements periphery Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) systems.
