After graduating from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor Degree (Honor Class 2 Division 1) in 2016, Tangent gained more than 4 years’ experience in the landscape industry in two Sydney firms (JMD Design and Aspect Studios), working on a range of different public domain and landscape projects at various scale and context. He further developed a strong interest in public space and urban design and decided to study Master of Urban Design at the University of Sydney. Tangent finished the master with a Distinction and achieved a high recommendation for the final projects to masterplan Granville Town Centre and Crows Nest Metro Development. At the same time, he led the design process and completed his first two projects at Aspect Studio, including Waverley Coastal Walk and Scotch Row Laneway Activation in 2018, while continuing to be a key team member of important public realm and infrastructure projects in Sydney regions which are Sydney Fish Market Redevelopment, Victoria Cross Metro Station and Sydney Football Stadium. His long-term ambition is to develop new definition/framework of cities which will adapt in a constantly changing environment and reshape the conventional thinking that has been embracing the urban fabric, especially in Asia and Vietnam where he was born, but still preserves their unique characters.
