Tourism Asset Identification Tool

McGregor Coxall developed the Natural Assets Portal a powerful digital platform that turns complex environmental data into clear insights for tourism planning. Using advanced mapping, spatial analysis, and drone surveys, we identified and ranked over 200 potential tourism sites, from scenic lookouts and valleys to sand dunes, natural water features, and night-sky viewing spots. The system considers factors like views, accessibility, climate comfort, safety, and infrastructure needs, helping planners and tourism guides scope out the best spots for experiences while protecting sensitive areas. The Natural Assets Portal is now the foundation for the region’s tourism strategy, giving users real-time access to environmental data, visibility analysis, and visitor comfort modelling, ensuring tourism development is both world-class and environmentally responsible.
