McGregor Coxall worked in partnership with the City of Melbourne and Mirvac to renew the Riverside Quay area; developing a masterplan to reinvigorate the areas streetscape, lane ways, squares and building interfaces. The complex riverside location in the heart of the Southbank asks for a rational and well considered approach and therefore placed strong emphasis on local community engagement with those who live, work and visit the area.
The strategy unlocks the site and utilises key movement corridors for pedestrian, cyclists and water based transport allowing the developer to create an attractive mixed use quay that delivers an inviting and authentic village heart comprising residential apartments, commercial office buildings, civic and arts related uses as well as showrooms, retail tenancies, cafes, bars and restaurants. Following the successful delivery of the masterplan for the site the team undertook documentation and delivery of the project. Construction was completed in 2018.
