McGregor Coxall and CHROFI’s competition-winning design for Midtown MacPark captures Frasers Property’s aspirations for new Community Centre and Central Park within the newest urban neighbourhood in Sydney’s north-west. A democratic heart for the precinct presents an inviting, active, and engaging public destination in a uniquely identifiable setting where the building and the park blend as a whole.
The concept explores the relationship between landscape and architecture, responding to the needs of the community, the environment, and its surroundings in creating a seamlessly integrated experience. Contemporary water management solutions and endemic planting ensures a year-round balanced microclimate and biodiverse habitat. Landscape and architecture amplify the experience of a sunken garden. Level changes throughout the topography create a destination worthy of exploration, a unique aesthetic with direct connections to a swimming centre, gym, multipurpose community rooms and café.
