Xiangmihu Park City
Xiangmihu is located within the Shenzhen Futian District, home to the Shenzhen government and centre of the Guandong - Hong Kong - Macau Greater Bay Area. Set within a world class city cluster, Xiangmihu Park City will reconnect to nature and emerge as global leader in green living, health, well being and urban resilience.
The International Design competition commissioned by the Shenzhen Urban Planning, Land & Resources Commission and Shenzhen Investment Holdings sought out designs to strengthen Shenzhen’s regional role, promoting technological innovation, city cooperation and financial growth.
Xiangmihu Park City is positioned at the centre of the Futian Districts future growth. The masterplan proposes a bustling open space network nestled between a series of distinctive urban districts that are seamlessly knitted together by an intelligent and responsive multi-modal transport system.
The waterfront, the green and the financial quarter are weaved together by an enriched and interactive public domain, carefully composed to manage the transition from financial centre to residential living. Smart technology is deployed to enhance the user experience. A unique mix of land uses and activities create diversity and public life.
Green spaces unify the city and punctuate the urban fabric. Civic life flourishes with art, theatre, sport and passive recreation. Framing the parkland environment is a promenade loop that acts as a key connectivity node for visitors to explore, animating the site with walkers and cyclists.
A new International Communications and Convention Centre sits at the centre of the urban districts. Forming a cultural axis, the iconic exchange building includes a theatre, hotel and conference centre. Emanating from the central icon is a civic plaza and a series of land bridges that orientate north to south and provide seamless linkages across the site.
Comprising a new financial district, tech hubs, retail, commercial and residential neighbourhoods, Xiangmihu Park City offers a diverse mix of density and land use, strengthening Shenzhen’s role within the greater bay area and setting a global bench mark in sustainable future cities.
