A Chartered Engineer and Water and Environmental Manager with expertise in environmental design and planning, Nora has developed a diversified skillset through advising private and public sector clients on a wide range of projects, with a particular focus on sustainable drainage, flood resilience, and water efficiency. Her experience ranges from proposed garden towns and urban regeneration projects to national road and rail schemes. She has also undertaken more strategic roles through secondments into the public sector and leading strategic flood risk assessments for local authorities. Nora has been directly involved in driving forward best practice and influencing policy through her role at the Greater London Authority (GLA) as Flood Risk, Drainage, and Water policy officer. She is passionate about finding sustainable solutions to complex problems through multi-disciplinary collaboration to develop schemes that are welcoming for everybody and resilient to climate change. Well-designed urban spaces with a focus on nature-based solutions promote exercise and community connection, but also help reduce air pollution, reduce the urban heat island effect, and promote water reuse and biodiversity. Nora’s career goal is to contribute to the sustainable development of places that are embedded within nature through excellent design rooted in community and environmental needs.
