Dr Behnaz Avazpour

Behnaz is a highly experienced and qualified architect and landscape architect with over 17 years of diverse industry experience, complemented by a decade of academic involvement as an educator and researcher. Her extensive portfolio showcases a variety of projects, including landscape master plans, streetscape designs, and urban park planning. Behnaz’s international experience, spanning the Middle East, Africa, and Australia, has honed her ability to deliver innovative planning and design solutions across various scales, collaborating effectively with a wide range of clients and multidisciplinary teams.
She holds a PhD specialising in water sensitive urban design and green infrastructure. Behnaz has significantly contributed to various research initiatives at esteemed institutions, including UNSW, the University of Sydney, and the University of Melbourne’s Sustainable Healthy Environment (SHE) Lab. She notably led an ARC research project on architectural technology and biophilic design and developed industry post-occupancy evaluation reports to promote healthy built environments.
