Grampians Peaks Trail (Gariwerd) has been recognised in the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture (AILA) National Awards, claiming both the Award of Excellence for Tourism and the Regional Achievement Award.

Held in Brisbane following the AILA Festival of Landscape Architecture themed ‘Country’, 40 projects of the highest calibre were recognised across the 17 categories – recognising both excellence in design and valuable contributions to community and environments.

Nick Griffin, Melbourne Co-Studio Leader, and Associate Director at McGregor Coxall, said:

“It has been another year of exemplar projects and we congratulate all nominees and winners for continuing to pioneer innovative and sustainable design.

“Through extensive collaboration with architects Noxon Giffen and Parks Victoria, this project was designed to protect and celebrate the unique beauty of the landscape while forming an immersive cultural and natural experience the community can truly enjoy. To have won alongside such extraordinary projects is incredibly exciting and we are humbled to have been recognised with top honours amongst this year’s compelling entries.”

Grampians Peak Trail (Gariwerd) is located in Grampians National Park, Victoria on the land of the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia, Jupagulk, Eastern Maar and Gunditjmara peoples.
