It has been reported that the Shipwreck Coast Masterplan will recieve $9.8 million in State Government funding towards new lookouts at the Twelve Apostles and The Blowhole sites, a new pedestrian bridge over Campbell’s Creek in Port Campbell with connecting trails and a Wi-Fi and digital interpretation platform focused on the Twelve Apostles. The project forms stage one of implementing the masterplan lead by McGregor Coxall and approved in December 2015. The Twelve Apostles site is the third most visited tourist destination in Australia, behind the Sydney Opera House and the Great Barrier Reef. Stage 1 of the implementation is expected to create 120 new jobs and inject $12 million a year into the regional economy over 20 years.
