McGregor Coxall is proud to announce West Belconnen has recently been awarded ‘Planning in Landscape Architecture’ at the 2014 AILA NSW Awards. The jury cited “McGregor Coxall’s West Belconnen Landscape and Open Space Strategy is a demonstration of an exemplary planning process. The work is underpinned by imagination and focus on the qualitative aspects of site and place: attributes too often absent from planning studies.” West Belconnen is a proposed 21st Century Garden Suburb straddling the ACT/NSW border. The project as been accepted as a Green Star Communities Pilot Project and is aiming for 6 Star accreditation.The plan encompasses the site’s key characteristics and translates these into principtiles that will integrate a robust, sustainable urban environment for 30,000 new residents within a natural setting. In 2013 McGregor Coxall was awarded the project and aptly responded to the client's vision \"to create a sustainable community of international significance in the nation's capital, exemplifying World's Best Practice in its design, construciton and long-term liveability\".
