The proposed development is located at 25A, 27 and 29 Lorne Avenue, Killara, currently three single residential buildings. The design philosophy for the landscape is to re-establish an endemic vegetative community in which the buildings are seen as floating pavilions. The hydrology of the site is celebrated by the introduction of a series of weirs which hold and display the water during rain events. These weirs promote water infiltration and filtration by the use of water loving plants which facilitate the biological breakdown of pollutants prior to the storm water entering the storm water system. A path located within the central courtyards provides both access and a meeting point for the residents. Each of the ground floor apartments has a private courtyard space for passive recreation.
