Hospital Park is a heritage precinct that lies on the western fringe of the Green Square Town Centre on the old South Sydney Hospital site. The masterplan proposed conversion of existing disused and derelict buildings to introduce a mixture of residential and retail spaces around a central formal park A series of small urban sub squares were linked to a cafe and community rooms. Proposed new buildings are located and massed to ensure their height and scale responds to the existing buildings and proposed open space. The new buildings are arranged to create squares and legible pedestrian links through the site. The central park is aligned with the axis of the historic hospital building.
