Project Description: Located in the Warriewood Valley in Mona Vale is the new corporate HQ for healthcare company Blackmores. As the Landscape Architecture consultant, McGregor Coxall collaborated with all the project disciplines to achieve a wholistic site vision built around ecological innovation to suit the corporate brand. The entry pond is used to cool air that is re-circulated through the building. Deciduous vines on the north facades provide sun shading and passive solar intake. Operable vegetated screens with evergreen vines on the western facade of the packaging facility and the indoor gardens purify air and provide amenity. A roof garden provides thermal control and visual screening from the carpark. Indigenous plant species, including aquatic reeds and sedges for hydrological filtration and detention ponding of water flows, are used throughout. Irrigation draws from the on-site storage of rainwater and lighting was designed to achieve a 5 star green rating helped by photovoltaic panels on the roof.
