Project Description: On behalf of the National Capital Authority Canberra McGregor Coxall were commissioned by PTW Architects to assist in preparation of a masterplan for the Arts & Civic Campus located within the Parliamentary Triangle. A concourse consisting of a linear informal spine is proposed to enhance pedestrian movement linking the Gallery with the National Portrait Gallery and future possible cultural institutions. Various design options have explored an integrative solution re-establishing and enhancing functional principles including extensive traffic and parking studies. Future extensions to the existing gallery gardens have been programmed to integrate a water sensitive design strategy for the Precinct.
